Songs and Dances '98

For clarinet or saxophone ensemble by ANDY JACKSON

The '98 version of this piece for single-wind ensemble is a one movement work which encompasses a range of moods all based on song and dance styles from African music. There are three sections entitled "Chorale", "Holy Street Dancing" and "Thinking". The third section offers the opportunity for some improvisation.

The piece works equally well in its version for clarinets or saxophones.
