Water Music Suite No. 2

George Frideric HANDEL arr. JACKSON

The tradition of dividing Handel's original collection of pieces into separate suites dates from the 1950's but the very different, more intimate feel of these 5 movements inspired me to arrange them for wind quintet rather than full orchestra.

The first performance of these arrangements took place on a boat on the river Wear in Sunderland, with the audience enjoying tea on the bank whilst listening.

Instrumentation: Flute (doubling piccolo), Oboe, Clarinet in Bb, Bassoon, Horn in F
